in the cityspace of Copenhagen and at the Project Space
of The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts,
during the period of
December 9 - 15, 2002
fff (more people mediate) is a temporary alternative news bureau founded in response to the EU summit in Copenhagen, December 2002. fff is motivated by the inadequate and biased news coverage that the established mass media has produced during previous international summits. The media tends to omit the political discourse of the opposition on behalf of a fixation on isolated violent episodes. The efforts and interests of NGOs, grassroots, and individuals are thus excluded in the general media picture, while a one-sided and misleading image of the official events is produced. fff is a constructive attempt to democratize the flow of information. fff´s purpose is to inform the public about the EU summit and to document events that take place in connection with the summit. You are welcome to participate in fff and to contribute with material, which will help make fffís coverage more inclusive. fff collects, documents, and expresses the diversity in the viewpoints of the opposition in a multitude of media (words, images, documents, photos, film, video, objects, events, interactions, etc.). During the summit,
fff will document and mediate material throughout the city of Copenhagen.
fff will also establish a temporary information center at the Project Space
of The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, in which collected material will
be archived and displayed. The information center will also host meetings
and discussions.
